Arnold Ray Rife

Arnold Ray Rife, 67, went home with his Lord to reunite with the love of his life, Rita, on Saturday morning, July 6, 2024, at his home near Wellston. He was born in Mason , West Virginia on March 25, 1957 to the late Hurley Wayne Rife and Mildred L. Cleland Rife. He attended Wellston High School and married his late wife, Alfreda " Rita " Johnson Rife, on August 26, 1975. They were married 43 years until her death on March 30, 2019. They had a son who survives,' Little Ray " Rife ( Katie ) of Nelsonville.  Ray was a mechanic for Fisher Trucking of Oak Hill and most recently an employee at Christine Smith farms. He enjoyed raising the baby calves most of all. He loved fishing and hunting in his spare time. Besides his parents and wife, he was also preceded in death by two brothers, Terry Lee Rife and Charles " Pokey " Wayne Rife Sr., and a sister, Shirley Rife Anderson. Besides his son, he is also survived by six grandchildren;  a sister, Karen Goheen ( Roger ) of Wellston; four brothers : Dallas Rife ( Donna ), Ed Rife ( Anna ), Joe Rife ( Jane ) all of Wellston, and Jimmy Dean Rife ( Karen ) of Oak Hill; many nieces and nephews; and a close friend, Christine Smith. Family and friends may gather at the Jenkins Funeral Chapel in Wellston on Thursday from 11 AM until the funeral hour at 1 PM. Services will be officiated by Rev. Bobby Cleland, and burial will follow in the Hamden Cemetery. The family members sincerely request that donations in Ray's memory be made to the Jenkins Funeral Chapel to help with his funeral expenses.
