Gladys Ankrom

July 13, 1934 — July 30, 2022

Wellston, Ohio

You may have seen this lovely lady sitting on her front porch at her well manicured home in Wellston, Ohio, or dining out with her friends, or attending a softball game at Rio Grande University, or at a football game in the Horseshoe at Ohio State, or at her great grandchildren's school events, or sitting in the congregation of the First Presbyterian Church of Wellston where she was an active Elder up until March of this year. How we will remember her best times, her laughter, her song, and her good life while she was strong. Gladys F. She was born in Glenroy, Ohio, July 13, 1934, daughter of the late Glen R. Long and Bessie Hamilton Long. She was a 1952 graduate of Coalton High School and married the love of her life, Joseph Henry Ankrom, who passed away on July 6, 2015. She retired from Buckeye Automatic in McArthur, Ohio, following 37 years as the administrative manager. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Deborah and Harold Hammond of Jackson; her grandson and his wife, Christopher and Michelle Hammond of Jackson; and her three great grandchildren, whom she loved caring for, Raylene, Braxton, and Keagan Hammond, all of Jackson.
